Day 35: Hands and Feet

If you're reading this, you have a decision to make. We're starting a movement, and we want you to be a part of it.
The movement is called Hands and Feet. Our mission/motto is "Working to fulfill our purpose as the Body of Christ". Under that are three main goals:

1. To serve others.
2. To reach out to everyone that we have the chance to.
3. To share Jesus' love with everyone.

There are so many opportunities out there that we allow to pass by. As part of the Body of Christ, we should seize every opportunity that comes our way, whether it's helping to build wells in Africa to doing the dishes without being asked, from serving overseas to sitting next to that lonely kid at lunch. There are so many chances out there to show God's love, to serve others, to reach out, to make a difference. No matter how small it is, it matters. And if it matters, we need to do it to the best of our ability.
I sometimes struggle with that, as I'm sure all of us do. I feel like the little things don't really matter. They don't always feel as rewarding as other things, but that shouldn't matter! We aren't supposed to do it just so we can feel good about ourselves or earn bragging rights, we're supposed to do it because it's what God commands us to do.
Just because you don't feel called to do a certain thing doesn't mean you shouldn't do it! It's not about that! If you feel called by God to do something, don't ignore it (but don't do it if it goes against the Bible or tells you to do something crazy that could hurt you or someone else in some way, that isn't God), but that's not the reason you should or shouldn't do something that that you have the chance to do.
That's what Hands and Feet is about, serving God by serving others, never letting an opportunity to serve and/or glorify Him pass by. Jesus said in Matthew 9, "The harvest is plenty, but the workers are few." We are the workers. The harvest is all the opportunities to serve and lead others to Christ. There are more workers now than when Jesus said that, but there are workers that don't do much to bring in the harvest.
There's a song by Casting Crowns called If We Are the Body. It says "If we are the Body, why aren't His arms reaching, why aren't His hands healing, why aren't His words teaching". The song goes on to say more about how the body isn't doing what it should be doing. It gives examples of opportunities some Christians have to reach out and serve and share God's love, and how they instead are being judgemental and mean, or just ignoring those opportunities.
We are commanded to be different. We are the Body of Christ, The Children of God, The Kingdom of Heaven. So we need to show it. And we need to show it in everything we do.
Join our movement. Tell other people about it, do whatever you can to serve, to reach out, and to share Jesus' love with everyone. Never let an opportunity pass you by. Do everything to the Glory of God, no matter how big or how small, as we work to fulfill our purpose as the Body of Christ.
    So will you join?
