Day 27

This video shows a girl known online as Misselainious. She felt that God was calling her to help orphans in India, but health issues have kept her here. But that didn't stop her from helping them. She wore the same dress for one hundred days to raise money and awareness for these orphans in India. So far she has raised over $58,000. God called her to do something, and she found a way to do it. The one hundred days are over, but she continues to blog on and accept donations. If you would like to visit her blog, click the link above with her name in it. She is the perfect example of how an idea can become life-changing. Misselainious, if you're reading this, we want to say thank you for helping these orphans and honoring God.

Day 26: To Girls

"Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall."   1 Corinthians 8:13
This verse illustrates the need to dress modestly. Dressing immodestly causes our brothers to stumble, and we just might cause him to fall. You don't want to cause that by the way you dress, something so easily adjusted. Just pick another outfit. It doesn't matter how cute it is, the only attention you will receive from your brothers will be negative. You want your brothers to respect you as their sister in Christ, not look at you as an item. They will have no respect for you at all.
More importantly, it will lead your brothers into sin. The way you dress may tempt them to have ungodly thoughts, and thoughts eventually become actions. You may affect the way they think about you entirely. So, every day before you walk out of the house, take a look in the mirror. Put yourself in the shoes of the guys you will come in contact with. Check to  make sure that the way you are dressed is not tempting. That you will actually be able to have a conversation with him with both of you focused on the topic. If your outfit limits your ability to have a focused conversation together, swap it out for another outfit.

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31
Yes, this includes the way you dress. You can dress in a way that honors God. Think of this every time you look in the mirror at your outfit, "If Jesus was standing next to me, would I wear this?" And ultimately, He is. He is everywhere, all the time. He is right next to you, right now. Remember that whenever your thinking of doing something unpleasing to your Heavenly Father.

Day 25

What do you do when the whole world is working against you? You don't stand a chance, anyway, so why not give up instead of making a fool of yourself? Why not just do what everyone else does? It works for them.
Because that's not what God tells us to do.
Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will."
If you just go along with what the world does, you are not fitting into God's plan. The world's plan and God's plan are completely different. The world's plan in self-centered and self-serving, while God's plan is selfless and serves others.
If God is the only one on your side, and the whole world is pushing against you, the whole world is incredibly outnumbered by the Almighty God. God is never defeated, he holds no grudges, has no hatred or sin, and will love you forever. So why would you even want to think about taking the world's side?
So what do you do with the world pushing against you? Push back, with all of your might, and let God lead. You don't need the world. You do need God.

Day 24

Have you ever felt like you are worth nothing, can do just about nothing, and will never and never have made a difference? Like you're just a walking piece of garbage?
God thinks you are worth everything in the world, knows you can do anything because He's on your side, and that you can and will make a difference. And He thinks you are beautiful.
You can do anything with God on your side.Think about that, anything.
1Timothy 4:12 says, "Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." That's a verse to live by, and one of many. It tells us we don't have to wait until we're older to do something great, we can right now! We can do great things, and no one has the right to stop us from helping people, from changing the world for the better, from showing God's love.
No matter what the world says about you, what you think of yourself, God can use you to change the world because He can do anything.
He sent his Son, Jesus, the Light of the World, perfect beyond compare, to take our sins and our punishment and die. Because He Loves You.
And the world needs to know that.
So what will you do about it?

Day 23

T and I have now raised $402 for The Sudans.
Let me repeat that: Four hundred and two dollars. God really wants this to work. So, that would mean that we met our first goal of $300. So, we needed to set a new goal, and after much conversation and thinking, we decided on $1,000. We know that it may take some time, okay, a lot of time, but we're willing to wait.
We know that God is providing for us, and he wants us to do the best we can to raise awareness and money for this issue, and I plan to give it my all. I can't even think of not giving it my all when I think of those children with swollen bellies, stick arms and legs, red hair from malnutrition, hollow cheekbones, and huge brown eyes full of hope. They always have hope. I want to give them a reason to continue to have hope.
I want to wrap my arms around them, very gently, and hold them like it's the last hug they'll ever get, and it might be, if they don't get the money we send. Even though I know that our money makes only a little difference, it's the little ones that need that little difference. If you feel drawn to make a difference for The Sudans, use your talents to raise money. Maybe you feel drawn to India, or China. Either way, you can make the money if God is on your side.

Day 22

God is amazing. He took a passion, a small jewelry hobby, and two teenage girls and made a fundraiser, with $226.72 in less than 3 weeks. The way He works amazes me.
This past Saturday, there was a cookout at N's house. We had previously made a board showing information about the Sudans and the circumstances they're in and brought that along with the donations jar and some adorable cupcakes with "burgers" on top that N and a friend had made. We put them on a table, the board, the jar, and the cupcakes. The cupcakes were free, but they helped get attention. Once we announced it, we started getting donations. We started that day with $51, and ended with $96. We were jumping up and down with excitement! Once we got to $100, N's dad would match it up to $300!
My sisters, the best, sweetest, most amazing sisters in the world, shared my excitement, but didn't let me know til we got home. They combined and donated $18! I was even more excited! We had past the match point!
Other donations have been made since then, thanks to friends at church. We know it hasn't stopped. We're still selling jewelry, making announcements, and raising money to help the Sudans.
I stand in awe of how so little can help so much, $10 saves a soul, $15 a life hear on earth, and so on to raise crops, build homes.
Making wells is soo much more though. It takes $23,000 to build a well through Samaritan's Purse. But I sooo want to. And we could. But it would take a lot more money and even more time.
   But we could.
Actually, we couldn't. But God can. He can do anything. And too many times we forget that. We don't always want to remember that. Because that means there's no excuse for doing nothing.
It doesn't even have to be a big thing, it could be saying something kind to someone who needs it, giving help to a sibling, befriending that person sitting alone at lunch, inviting that friend to church. But the size of something or how impossible something seems doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Because you'll never get that opportunity again. You may get other opportunities, but not that one.
God can do anything, He could give you that opportunity again, but it still won't be the same. He is calling everyone to do something, whether it's big or small is between you and God.
   So why not do it?

Day 21

Two hundred twenty-six dollars and seventy-two cents.

That's how much money T and I have raised for The Sudans in less than three weeks. All of that money is smooshed into this donations jar. This blows my mind every time I think about it. Do you understand how many lives you can save with that amount of money? You can feed a malnourished infant for almost four months.
This proves how almighty God truly is. He turned an idea from two teenage girls and used it to raise over $200. God is all-powerful.
So, whenever you get an idea that seems out of the blue and random, don't ignore it. That's God guiding you down the road He has paved for you. He will not force you to go down that road, but it is the best way to get to your destination, even if you end up in a different neighborhood than you planned. If you wander off the road into the woods, God will watch you from His road, and He will call to you. It's your choice if you will answer His call, or keep making your own path. I have chosen to follow God's path.
Do you have an idea that you feel God wants you to make a reality? Any special talents you can use to praise him. Use them. They were not given to you so that you could waste them.
