Day 22

God is amazing. He took a passion, a small jewelry hobby, and two teenage girls and made a fundraiser, with $226.72 in less than 3 weeks. The way He works amazes me.
This past Saturday, there was a cookout at N's house. We had previously made a board showing information about the Sudans and the circumstances they're in and brought that along with the donations jar and some adorable cupcakes with "burgers" on top that N and a friend had made. We put them on a table, the board, the jar, and the cupcakes. The cupcakes were free, but they helped get attention. Once we announced it, we started getting donations. We started that day with $51, and ended with $96. We were jumping up and down with excitement! Once we got to $100, N's dad would match it up to $300!
My sisters, the best, sweetest, most amazing sisters in the world, shared my excitement, but didn't let me know til we got home. They combined and donated $18! I was even more excited! We had past the match point!
Other donations have been made since then, thanks to friends at church. We know it hasn't stopped. We're still selling jewelry, making announcements, and raising money to help the Sudans.
I stand in awe of how so little can help so much, $10 saves a soul, $15 a life hear on earth, and so on to raise crops, build homes.
Making wells is soo much more though. It takes $23,000 to build a well through Samaritan's Purse. But I sooo want to. And we could. But it would take a lot more money and even more time.
   But we could.
Actually, we couldn't. But God can. He can do anything. And too many times we forget that. We don't always want to remember that. Because that means there's no excuse for doing nothing.
It doesn't even have to be a big thing, it could be saying something kind to someone who needs it, giving help to a sibling, befriending that person sitting alone at lunch, inviting that friend to church. But the size of something or how impossible something seems doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Because you'll never get that opportunity again. You may get other opportunities, but not that one.
God can do anything, He could give you that opportunity again, but it still won't be the same. He is calling everyone to do something, whether it's big or small is between you and God.
   So why not do it?
